Every household produce tons of plastic each year, out of which probably only 1% gets recycled and rest ends up in the land field polluting the environment. In rural areas we don't even have proper waste disposal system, so the locals either throw them in open fields or burn them. The damage created everyday is beyond repairable. As a responsible citizen we can make aware the reachable communities the harmful effect of plastic pollution and how to manage this through few simple steps like wash, sun dry, collect and donate are the only steps to be followed in order to help us with the program. One of the most innovative way to tackle these is by weaving plastic with cotton in our traditional looms.

An initiative which was started by Mrs. Rupjyoti Saikia Gogoi in her native village at Kaziranga in 2004. This innovative thought was shaped with the help of weaving and weavers. She has trained more than 3000 weavers on how to weave plastic with cotton in our looms and create beautiful products like Table runner, Table mats, doormats and other furnishing products.
